Spider-Man: Far From Home gets a cool fan-made animated trailer. The second standalone film for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, the sequel will be helmed by Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts. Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, it’ll be the first movie from the MCU’s still mysterious Phase 4. Peter will embark on an international trip with his friends around Europe, where he’s set to meet brand new enemies like Hydro-Man, Chameleon, Molten Man and the movie’s primary antagonist, Mysterio – now officially confirmed to be played by Jake Gyllenhaal.
With just 7 months to go before Far From Home hits theaters, fans are anticipating any kind of marketing material from the flick. But since its narrative hinges on what goes down in Endgame, both Marvel Studios and Sony need to plan a meticulous scheme to promote the film without inadvertently revealing a major plot point for MCU’s Phase 3 capper. This is believed to be the major reason why a trailer hasn’t been released to the public yet. One fan, however, took the opportunity to come up with his own version of a trailer, and despite being animated, people are really liking what he was able to do.

Courtesy of Bigoso Animation on YouTube is an animated trailer for Far From Home. The clip features the titular character alongside Nick Fury and Maria Hill as expected in the movie itself. It also shines a light on Mysterio and his eventual face-off with the wall-crawling hero. The fan-made trailer didn’t follow the footage description from the teaser shown at Comic-Con Experience earlier this month. Nevertheless, fans are digging the animation of this one, which can be watched below:
The creator made some creative choices in the video that have narrative implications in what could ultimately happen in Far From Home, but since Sony and Marvel are keeping plot specifics tightly under wraps, it’s important to note that the above trailer is in no way an indication of what actually goes down in the film. As previously noted, Bigoso Animation decided to not take inspiration from the description of footage shown at CCXP. Nonetheless, the video appears to be enough for fans who have been clamoring for any clip from the film. Latest rumors claimed that the first official trailer was supposed to drop on Christmas day, but that obviously didn’t happen.
One wonders at this point if the much clamored for Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer will arrive before the year ends. There have been several photo and video leaks since the film began production. And even after it wrapped up filming, possible spoiler photos continue to emerge online. At this point, it would probably be best for Sony to come out with at least an official poster or character portraits, just to give fans something to chew on if they’re not planning on rolling out a trailer anytime soon.
