DC Universe 2019 Trailer Teases An Expanding Superhero Universe

DC Universe released a new trailer teasing an expanded superhero universe for its 2019 programming. DC Universe launched earlier this year with a streaming subscription service that offers a good back catalog of all DC Comics-related TV shows, movies, and comics. Later, the service debuted its first original live-action TV series, Titans.

Titans, based on the Teen Titans comic book series, follows a group of young superheroes who join forces to help save Earth. The series got a lot of social media buzz from fans, particularly after its first season finale. DC had already renewed it for a second season before the first episode premiered, but DC has not yet announced when that second season will arrive. In the meantime, the service also provides other content, in the form of animated and live-action DC Comics television shows and movies, as well as a rotating selection of digital comics.

DC Universe just released a new trailer to tease what subscribers can look forward to in 2019. Not only does the video showcase some of the original animated and live-action shows the company plans on releasing, it also teases the arrival of season 1 of Syfy’s Krypton on the service. There is also a mention of the addition of more comics and movies.

According to the official DC Universe schedule, the service will have an original show on every single week of the year, meaning that fans wanting to keep up will need to plan on subscribing for the full year. That was smart on the part of the company, and based on this trailer for 2019, DC has plans to keep fans wanting to pay that monthly fee. DC took a massive gamble in creating its own subscription service, but it looks like the company plans to stay committed to it. Although the service is currently limited to the U.S., DC hopes to expand it soon. In the meantime, international fans who want to watch Titans will get a chance to do so via Netflix.
