Yeah, I know.

Believe me, I would hand over my man card now, but I already sentenced myself to the outskirts of manhood when I covered An Affair To Remember. And this might be a bad time to tell you, but between the years 2001 and 2002 I saw The Princess Diaries like three times. (Wow that feels good to put in writing.)

credit: miss-dashwood.blogspot.comI will say I find it strange that in this film the girl is named Joe and the boy is named Laurie. I would mock him for his girlish name, but I don’t feel I can since Laurie probably never even HEARD of The Princess Diaries.

Laurie is played by Christian Bale. And for having a last name that sounds a lot like Baal, I find his first name to be a bit conflicting.

OH, SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW: I may have seen The Princess Diaries four times. I can’t remember.

Okay, Little Women is just as girly as you would expect, but it’s a great example of why family is so important, especially in hard times.

These sisters watched out for each other no matter what, and that’s how it should be. Members of our family shouldn’t have to go looking somewhere else when they are in trouble or just desperate for a listening ear.

Maybe the family you grew up with didn’t operate that way, but remember this: You don’t have to grow up in a great family to raise a great family.

“And ye will not suffer your children that they go hungry, or naked; neither will ye suffer that they transgress the laws of God, and fight and quarrel one with another…But ye will teach them to walk in the ways of truth and soberness; ye will teach them to love one another, and to serve one another.” – Mosiah 4:14-15
