An Affair To Remember (1957)

credit: www.thirteen.orgYes, it’s a classic love story, but what happens to the girl is totally lame.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought it fitting to feature the uncontested queen of chick flicks. Though as a disclaimer you should be aware that the first time I saw this film I was alone with three other guys.

And no, moist eyes and a slight lump in the throat do not count as “crying.”

OH, SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW: If you happen to find yourself engaged, you should know that sending your fiancé off alone on a cruise may not exactly bolster the relationship.

Real romance, true love if you will, thrives in tragedy. When we talk about romance we don’t usually use the word “charity,” but if there was ever a kind of love that endures scars, blemishes or imperfections in any relationship, it’s charity.

And any relationship built on Christlike love is destined to grow more beautiful and precious as time goes by.

“But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever.” – Moroni 7:47
