OH, SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW: Luke 2 is about 11 times cooler when you hear it read in an English accent, so go find someone from England and make them read it to you.
Yes, Christmas is about love. Yes, Christmas is about giving. Yes, Christmas is about lots of good and great things, but when you boil it down to its roots, it’s about Jesus Christ.
So sometime between the fancy feasts and opening of presents, we’d all do well to take some time to pray, read our scriptures, and thank our Father in Heaven for sending “his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
I believe all that the prophets, ancient and modern, have taught concerning Jesus Christ. He was and is our Savior. He came before, and He will come again. In the words of Neal A. Maxwell:
When Christ comes again, it will not be to the meekness of the manger; it will be as the recognized Redeemer and the Lord of the universe! Then, in a great solar display, stars will fall from their places in a witnessing way, with much more drama than at His birth, when “the stars in the heavens looked down where he lay.”
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:10-11
